so, more than two months since my last entry (a record i think), and though i received a couple of requests to update during that lapse, honestly not much happened that would compel me to come here and update. recently, however, a couple of note-worthy events have taken place that may be of some interest to whatever is left of the xanga world. more importantly, these events presented plenty of photo ops for the camera happy, resulting in more than enough pictures to post to make up for the lack of content here.

i hit the dreaded quarter-of-a-century milestone on october 5th and decided to keep it classy by throwing a little celebration at where else but the boom boom room -- which, contrary to the seedy images conjured up by the name, is actually a charming little wine bar in the heights (thanks again, jen, for the suggestion!). thanks to everyone who came out -- its always wonderful to have the people you care about together in one place. hope you guys had a good time!







we ended up at bond later on that night, and the rest of the story will just have to stay with those who were present. let's just say my 25th birthday was the most memorable and unmemorable. just when i (finally) recovered from all the birthday "festivities", off to our nation's capital donny and i went...

how could you not fall in love with this city? -- the historical significance, the monuments and architecture, the academia, the diversity, the social and political awareness that characterizes the atmosphere of the city. it helped that we were also blessed with beautiful autumn weather the whole weekend. once again, i came home wondering why the heck i'm still in houston...
